Lets hope it does last and lets hope everything that is happening now is a huge wake up call for all the a-holes who have lived beyond their means and the banks that helped facilitate their false, sub-prime lifestyle.
I bought my house when I was 25 in 1983 and the banks, even then, were...
Always the optimist, I just checked my 401K at 11:30 this morning. Since 9:00 a.m yesterday, my account value grew over $12,000!
At that rate, I will be retiring very early, on or about December 14, 2008, according to my gazintas.
Yaaaay!
:)
A long-gone friend of mine from my club who used to fish Canada every year, showed me a lure he used for northern pike.
We were at his house for his 80th birthday and it was like show and tell with his old fishing equipment and photo albums.
The lure was a small harness/saddle with two...
I wanted out at 59.5 years of age, which is 9.5 years away for me.
I am hoping my 401K can recover at least the value that it lost in the last 6 months over that 9.5 year period and then some more.
I have a balanced growth investment strategy in my program but the minute I see recovery to my...
Great pics Jeff.
I got a pretty good idea about that creature noise.
About 10 years ago me and a buddy were setting decoys on Wescoat bogs in the predawn.
As it got light, we heard a blood curdling screaching/crying noise out towards Sleeper.
It would start every few minutes and then stop...
Thanks Jim.
It looks like I am shifting gears though.
With the stellar weather forecast for the weekend and the mullet running good, I think I will be oceanbound instead.
Maybe I will hit the Lighthouse with the bike in a few weeks.
This Saturday Oct. 11, 2008 10:00 to 5:00 at Wells Mills Park
Anyone going? I have never been.
I may take the motorcycle for a ride with the bride.
I assume no beer? :(
Any nearby waterin' holes?
Thanks George.
Our other springer Gunner saw 15 1/2.
Remington had some issues with his knees and then developed laryngeal paralysis. He was struggling with his breathing the last few months and had an episode that he couldn't overcome a few weeks ago.
They truly are man's best friend in the...
Sorry to hear about your dog Bill.
My wife and I just put our ten year old Springer down two weeks ago.
My wife is still a mess and I miss him deeply.
He was our constant companion on the boat or in the woods and everytime I turn around I expect to see him there with his eager eyes.

I would not recommend dead of winter wheeling to the Swamp Monster.
Framing out on broken ice is a real bad feeling and is one of the most damaging situations for a truck.
Those ice chunks are good tie rod wreckers and exhaust and brake system rippers.
The road leading north and...
You won't be getting very close to the monster with a Liberty Jim.
There are holes back there that would swallow Big Foot
You will still need to walk most of the way from the road leading away from West Mill Road.
For anyone who enjoys the "birdseye" feature of Microsoft's Livesearch program, they took away the print option on the birdseye views this week.
We have been using it quite a bit for reports lately and it was a surprise this week to see the print option disappear.
The site just says it does...
I am battin' a 1000 lately with links.
This should get one to the map and imagery page:
http://www.usgs.gov/pubprod/
Actually I missed the obvious too.
xcapt352 should go to this website's banner and click on the NJPB Livemaps.
Find Atsion, zoom it and light up topo.
Print yourself or purchase the Atsion NJ USGS Quadrangle Map and take the road running east from the Atsion Ranger Station.
It's Quaker Bridge Road and you can take that east to Quaker Bridge, then all the way to Washington Road. Make a right on Washington and go out to Batsto Village.
If you...
