You bet they were happy. Ignorance is bliss and welcomed in the pines. Knowledge would make one realize just how unfortunate they were compared to societies standards. So they took on life simply. When they choose isolation it was security from the outside world and all the influences. I constantly try to explain this theory to my husband who agrues that pineys were unhappy so drank to excess. It is amazing the different opinons people have.

TThen I'd go have a porkchop at Fred's. I'd bring him a 6 pack of Schmidts too, cause that was probably the beer he was used to.

I can hear Bob now ..... Fred...cook me up a pork chop

LOL, it would make more sense if that was what he meant. But no, he really thinks pineys are a very unhappy clan. Amazing!

Born in the pines, going to die in the pines. Always a happy individual. the only thing that makes me unhappy is the city people coming here thinking they know everything, then build $400K+ houses in our towns :bang:. If people don't like our way of life, they can stay in their "suburbs".

Anyone know the stroy behind the abandoned white house on 532 near tabernacle and chatsworth border. I believe the guys name was Morris Sklar. I found tax envelopes bills and checks all over the place from the 1970's. Anyone know anything?

ive been there and it does look like someone just up and left in a hurry or died with no family , there was even clothes still hanging in the closet , the place looked pretty ransacked and there was old bills and cashed checks from 1979 alot of em from that time date . but also newspapers from the early 90's so maybe someone was using it for a hangout ?

Pineys are happy people and its because they don't link with the material world we live in. Theres all this competition on updating and advancing and getting new things here and there. Certain clothes, games, and whatever it may be. I live in the Pines and I like keeping my life as simple as possible because it just makes everything easier. The Less materialistic I am the happier i think ill be. People need to slow in advancing and think about where they came from. I'm not saying advancing and change is bad but at too fast of a pace with too much of this and that I think its bad.

And also anymore these days I feel the less you can depend on society which Pineys try not to do and neither do i the better off you'll be . Self sufficiency
