    Are Coyotes a threat?

Yes a human fed racoon will lose it's fear.Had a red fox approach my car once back by Calico in the pines. It looked starved and worked over. Momma fed it tater chips from the window.I got out of the car to hike across the big puddle on the way in to Calico and it ran back about fifty feet when i...

    Are Coyotes a threat?

I used to carry a big sheath knife. Not because I was scared but because a big knife doubles as an axe in a pinch and is much more useful in woodcraft then a small easily broke knife. I carried the knife all the time.Alas the plant manager finally noticed it after only about five years of wearing...

    Map Nostalgia

If I"m in a totally unfamiliar area I"d rather have a map then a compass.I can generally find a way to tell directions even if it's cloudy by vegetation. If you don't know your country you quite probably will pick the worse direction you possibly could to travel in.I think it's in Murphy's Law.In...

Large White Property Stone in Greenwood

I found the same kind of metal post a few days ago while searching for an Amatol monument. Also found an old blaze near the stake but no monument,no granite stone at the other location a thousand feet away either, just an old pink ribbon lying on the ground at that spot.Hoping for better things at...
