    Who knows about chickens?

Guineas are loud and they cackle constantly.I kind of like the farm yard sound though. It is preferable to the trash music my neighbors blast all weekend every weekend. The guineas are near my daughters house and are owned by mexicans at the end of the block. They roam the area at will.

My first Orchid of the season

I really have no choice. The hours I work don't leave a whole lot of time for recreation and the shift work leaves me feeling run down most of the time anyway and my wife's idea of fun is not beating through briars or belly crawling across mud flats. I'm starting to see why drinking to...

Venus Fly Traps in the NJ Pine Barrens

I don't buy into the modern theories as to the cause of global warming though I do believe the planet is warming for entirely different reasons and if the planet is warming then southern plants and animals are going to naturally come this way as we have seen already with the advent of opossums...

    Who knows about chickens?

Guineas are well noted for taking out ticks and chiggers as amf has stated. My Sparks kinfolk lived back in the woods when i was a kid.Chigger/tick infested woods. If you stayed withing 50 yards of the house where the Guineas spent most of their time you hardly ever got a chigger or tick. I don't...

Increased Number of Birds This Year?

Supposedly been a frog drought for years now.Attributed to Global Warming and Acid Rain of course. The only actual abscence I've noticed is Bullfrogs are not around as much as they used to be.The invasive people probably got em all since they are not native.
