Wow this thread got weird.

I've noticed since around late summer 2010 they have had a much better prescence out there. Unfortunately I need to get them up to speed on what to watch out for because they seem not to be aware of some less obvious threats to the ecology out there.

Guy that is sort of what I was talking about and have been seeing. I think there was a fresh squared off area in Lebanon that I don't recall seeing before and couldn't understand why it was there. I don't have a problem with fire breaks because many time the create nice habitat for critters...

Does anyone know what kind of camera they use for these nests? Is there a local power source or running off batteries? I've been interested in putting up something like this at often poached locations.

It would be devastating to see the great city in the plains burned up, thanks. Local we may not know much about fire management but likewise you know very little about ecology of the pines. I guess we can learn from eachother.

Believe it or not there was some jack ass breeding 'no eyed' red eared sliders for the pet trade a few years back. Fortunately he was busted by the fed. Al I'm not sure how they find food, but I think for land turtles its more eyesight, water turtles may be different.
