I was in Lucille's parking lot in Warren Grove and saw three forest fire trucks heading north up 539. Their walk talkies where so loud I could hear someone saying Cedar Bridge. Can't say I'm familiar with that name. Anyone here/see anything? I didn't smell or see any smoke.

I disagree that this is no longer constructive. People with authority and people in decision making roles view these forums and others often. These forums are good ways to get the ball rolling on things. If threads like this result in solution/compromise down the road than its worth leaving up.

Yeah I think my buddy and I saw about 10 in less then one hour of driving. They seem to be abundant in one particular area....but I don't want to mention it publicly.

I think he means in regards to the Jamboree(or whatever event it is). You need a special permit to hold events like this, similar to the Enduros. Think the Pinelands Commission issues them.

Ugh I don't think you'd be a fan of where this fire is. Burning wetlands is not a great thing. Given all this heat lots of critters are nestled down in those swamps to beat the heat and get underground, I worry about some of those critters.

Mudboy good stuff getting them off the road. As for the being flipped over thing....on a warm day with sun that boxie would have cooked in about an hour if it couldn't flip himself over. While they can normally flip themselves back up if they are week from the sun this is a death sentence...

Mike, the entire preserve is open to the public. That particular area was getting ALOT of traffic two summers ago. Every weekend there would be 5-10 cars of people dragging coolers back there and the place started to get really filled up with trash. I don't know why they put the signs up...

I should note given your location I do not think timbers are present there mainly due to a lack of denning habitat.

Pancoast nothing else here has a rattle besides the timber rattlesnake. While on the crawl a rattlesnakes tail will shake very slightly as it goes over objects. But it would be very hard to pick up this noise as it isn't loud at all or consistent. When one actually feels threatened it will...
