    Fall MAP?

It is obvious the state is going to make some changes for access to the pines soon. You should listen to the Regional Roundup 8/9/21 at various podcast locations and form your own opinion. They say a permit system will be coming for off road vehicles which I believe includes motorcycles. Again...

    A Few From Today

We traveled to Quarter Mile this morning and found a lone white orchid in one of the roads used by the visitors to the area a few years back. This is the first white one I have viewed there. We then left there and traveled to the rattlesnake location and spent a few minutes talking to her...

    Sunday Morning Meander

All, Jessica and I visited various places this morning including Quarter Mile. We were checking on the yellow orchids which we did not see there last year. We were concerned that the intense growth where they are located has kept them down. However, Jessica was able to find two of them hidden...

    Irick's Causeway

I noticed today they have a sign at Irick's Causeway and 532 saying the bridge is out on Irick's Causeway. The road does not have vehicle access so it only should effect walkers. I was at that bridge a few years ago and it looked pretty sturdy. I wonder what happened?

Locations. In understanding how this movement pattern has impacted Woodland this year, one, for example, can travel east on Route 72 and see what is expected in the summertime, green foliage, that is, until you get to mile marker 3 on the state highway, near local business, Bear Electric’s...

    Saturday Hike

This morning Jessica and I started at Hampton Furnace and walked almost all the way to Mannis Duck pond with the goal to again revisit the location of the "Then and Now" photos below. Along the way we saw this. And interesting tree and the wild blueberry bush nearby. Jessica in the...

    Brooksbrea

Tonight there was a cleanup at Brooksbrea. I wonder if that means they will be keeping a closer watch on the place? You can bet it will be a mess in no time. We went past around 8AM last weekend and people were leaving that early in the morning.

    Around The Tulpehocken

We spent some time this morning in the woods along the Tulpehocken. On the way there we saw a strange site on Carranza Road. Hopefully nobody else here saw it as it was a Fawn's head chewed off from the rest of the body. I have a photo of it but Ben does not want us to post photo's such as that...

    Orchids and Other Things

We revisited one of only about two known locations in the pines that the Large Whorled Pogonia (Isotria Verticillata) grow. Bob has theorized, and I agree, that the seeds were deposited when someone from North Jersey or other locations brought a motorcycle or ATV trailer to the area and the...
