    Organizing a canoe trip

I've always used Pine Barrens Canoe Rental and the folks there give my family a small discount because we are usually a large group. As Jeff said a charity with the proper paperwork might help get the cost down. Mick's is also run by good people. Can't speak personally for Bel Haven but I've...

    Atlantic City, Makepeace, and Wharton

Hey Badfish, Glad you enjoyed your stay in the beautiful South. The proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, the wildlife management areas, ghost towns, and cool "down home feel" around those parts make it very appealing. AC is just pure evil. You have a better chance running with the devil in the...

    Apple Pie Hill

Last Thursday took a group of folks on a field trip. The first stop was Nixon's(of course), followed by Apple Pie Hill. I think it is the third or fourth platform going up that you encounter the unstable shaking one that scares the hell out of me. I hope that is on the list to be fixed up...

favorite places to eat and imbibe in the pines

The one that got my attention on that list was Oyster Creek. That was my favorite place to go out to eat with my family when I was a kid. Going by boat was always a bonus too. Have'nt been there in years there were always tons of cats all over the place.

Ole's Ranch/Sally Starr's Ponderosa (not the pizza place)

Nice Post Mike. I live very close to that area in West Berlin. I've been around some of those areas in your pics not knowing what they were. Another area in Gibbsboro similiar to a Pine Barrens terrain is the Green Acres tract and Blueberry Hill. Its becoming more popular everyday and the...

    Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas from the Folcher family. I hope everyone got what they wished for this holiday. 2006 has not been a good year locally or globally for the human race. I hope there is a decline in the killing and destruction in our world. One can always hope right?

    PBX Trip to Howardsville

I had a great time on this hike. I wasn't as sore the next day as I thought I would be. Even though we were close to two major roadways some of those spots had a great remoteness to them. The final rest stop in that clearing was my favorite spot. Thanks for including me in the PBX. I hope...

    Oh, our economy is crushed!

My grandfather's beer was Schmidts of Phila., my pops was Miller High Life back in the day he has since switched to Yuengling. The beer we loaded up on at Fairleigh Dickinson was good ole Olympia "its the water" or Hamm's at Delaware. You can't go wrong though with an ice cold Pabst's Blue...
