    Mistletoe

Manu, have you ever found any Mistletoe? I have never been far enough south to be in the northern most extremities of the plants range. I have read it is easy to find along the Great Egg Harbor river corridor by Gloucester and Camden counties.

Patriots? Hasn't there always been that sector of society that is off of the grid? Their numbers are so small that the greater good will always triumph them. They have weapons and live in fear because they are truly the meek. There existence solely depends on turmoil, which is very sad. Don't...

No. No infringements what so ever, I would do anything in my power to protect our future generations freedom- soap box to ballot box. Honestly, I am looking at this beyond the second amendment. Bobpbx, how do you feel about the government overstepping into our lives?

I hope you don't mind a short political rant and please don't think any less of me for my view of less government.;) The second amendment is the force we possess which backs our sovereignty over our officials. This force has more power than our presses and our voices. We have this peacefully...

    Atco Raceway sold

Don't forget Junior Johnson, Ned Jarrett, and Cale Yarborough driving specialized big blocks reaching speeds close to two hundred. Cars powered by the 429 Boss and the legendary Hemi oozed of raw horsepower. I am old enough to remember the Wide World of Sports and the great racing of the time...

I came home to find the little woman upset and sobbing at the kitchen table. She said she couldn't explain why, but she felt guilty for what happened. I, too, immediately turned off the television. Every channel kept repeating over and over the same thing. Coverage that intense, with no new...

Forsythe Refuge Taking on Sandy Debris Challenge

Manager Rettig should ask the National Guard or the Reserves if they wouldn't mind loaning some of their time and a heavy lift helicopter to remove the boats and debris. The aircraft leave a small footprint and are nimble enough that they would cause very little impact on the refuge. Besides...

The coming ban will have little effect on gun ownership in New Jersey. We currently have some of the strictest set of laws pertaining to gun ownership in the nation. Most of 1994 ban still exists in the states current gun laws. What I am concerned about is how fast a swipe of the pen can turn a...

The moment you've all been waiting for...

Even though I don't have the same view point as you, I will give you praise for being creative and constructing your own website on the subject. Way to go!;) The only criticism of your new page would be that viewer consideration is needed. A volume alert is needed for the end of your recording...

    The Geminids are coming....

Just one more... After I returned my faulty Canon, I went with the Pentax because I became fascinated with pancake lenses. The 40mm Limited I have is an incredibly sharp example. Sometimes there is almost a 3D effect from it. I should use it more at night. This photo is of the board walk...

Boyd, we are just having a friendly discussion. I wasn't critical of your honesty, you were affable, but I will be applying some points you have raised to further develop my technique and style. Every learning curve has its plateaus and listening to what others have to say is always beneficial...

    The Geminids are coming....

Boyd, I agree with you that thirty seconds is to long of an exposure and image blur will be the result. Your eight second exposure produced a pin point of light. This morning it is very obvious to my not so tired eyes. Tonight I will take a range of shots backing down from the thirty second...

Nice!:) Fast fifties never disappoint when it comes to low light performance. I revisited the road through Great Bay again this evening and made a slight improvement with my settings with the wide prime. The setting was F4 3200 30sec +2EV and with the standard 3 second delay after lock up. It...

I found a light pollution chart and one of the darker areas (yellow) in the Pine Barrens is near the intersection of Burlington, Ocean and Atlantic counties. A guess to would be Bass or Wharton in that general area. That intersection is near your homestead Boyd isn't it? I reside in the red...

    The Geminids are coming....

Boyd, you have raised a good question that I have asked myself as to what that length of time is. I can't image the vibration and the post resonance of the lock up lasting more than more than a quarter of a second. I would imagine there are dampeners of some sort engineered into the design and...

Thanks for the compliment.;) There is vibration from the mirror moving with can contribute to motion blur. The effect depends very much on shutter speed, but that peak vibration is different for every camera. Locking the mirror is just another step to eliminating blur and to getting the...

    The Geminids are coming....

This is one of my favorite images of the Milky Way captured over the East Plains this summer. The streak in the left corner is a satellite. It was a crystal clear summer evening. There is some distortion which can be seen in the larger light sources, but it is tolerable.

Thanks 46er, I will take a look at the newest Lightroom, but I need to review the newest ACR to see if the K5 is supported. If I remember correctly my camera was new at the time at that the software lacked any function for it. My camera saves RAW in PEF or DNG. (I have Elements 10 if that is of...
