    Franklin Parker Preserve

If you spend enough time out and about, you will eventually cross paths with something that will leave you wondering or cringing in disgust. I am sure we have all had our "Why me?" moments while in the Barrens.

Pemberton Historic Trust must remove trains

Mayor Patriarca has suggested many times that he wants to develop the north end of the town. From what I read, it is the only area that is not under the authority of the Pinelands Commission and its regulations. Is there a town center in the making? The station may be in the way.

    Franklin Parker Preserve

It easy to get your bearings crossed in the Preserve, especially since many of the dikes surrounding the bogs have cuts in them that are impassable. It might be time for you to invest in a handheld GPS. You can use being "delayed" as an excuse to influence the hubby to get you one - so it won't...

The new wells are to the left of the center line of the plume indicated on the map in the PDF link. One well is at the end of the first line by the crossroads.

    Piney Water

Maybe?! I need to read the web page in its entirety but indications are that if the farmers ponds are located in a strategic location and designed properly that the ponds can be utilized as a cost effective means of controlling farm run off. Farm runoff, as we all know, is one of the major...

    Piney Water

A forward thinking study that would be beneficial to the Pineland waterways. An interesting study across the pond that should have U.S. interests is the UK MOPS2. It is a study which began in 2008 and will conclude next year that indicates that that field wetlands are a very effective means of...

    Pinks are up....

Yesterday, the water was overflowing the road. It may be in danger of washing out. The water was at least a foot deep by the corrugated pipe. There was also another small stream crossing above the parking spot along the right side as you drive in.

    It Could have been Worse

That is my attitude. I never have a set plan on where I am going. I have a general idea where I want to be and I go from there. Now I will leave a note to the general area I will be in. All I did was catch the toe box in between roots hidden under the Sphagnum moss and trip. A few inches...

New Wells by Bomarc Missile Site

The contractors that were doing the drilling had their supplies and equipment out in the open. I would imagine that most of what is pictured has to do with the drilling and lining of the holes.

New Wells by Bomarc Missile Site

While in Colliers Mills, I saw that several new wells had been constructed near the Bomarc Missile Site OT-16. One was along Hawkin Road and the other in a nearby rye field. Both are on state grounds. I was correct in thinking that they where to monitor ground water contamination from the...
