    Mary Lee is visiting

Coincidentally I just finished reading Close To Shore about the shark attacks along the New Jersey coast in 1916. A really great read. http://www.amazon.com/Close-Shore-Terrifying-Shark-Attacks/dp/0767904141 https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=zeYrSlhVJU8I.k--zaGIdSNgU&hl=en

    Couple of Batona Trail Questions

No, it's way over marked in sections. Many times on both sides of the trail while walking in the same direction. Mile markers are starting to appear too. The cutting up of every small tree that falls across it. Not much of a wilderness experience any more.

The bridge had been replaced at least once, as well as the one at Atsion. When kayaking under them the old sawn off pilings can be seen.

    Edgepillock Lake

Yes Bob, that nails it! I was attracted to the Gardner family history. John and Ruth Gardener were neighbors and friends. Ruth died a few years ago and John last August. Johns father, Hobart, owned the Shady Rest Liquor Store on 206, now Scoots.

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

The only dead TR I found was on Carranza Road right in front of the memorial. The funny thing was after walking the dogs at Sandy Ridge it was gone. Believe me it was quite squashed.

What mammal would dig up sand over and over?

The claw marks in the sand would look different. BTW, my dogs pee on these scrapings so it might not be from the perp.

    Couple of Batona Trail Questions

The Batona Camp pump appears to be working. You could hide a couple of caches along your hike, and that might be more convenient than relying on existing sources.
