And now, for something good and unique, from 1968. The fabulous Steve Miller Band. Quicksilver Girl.

    Cape May County Explorations

I was doing a report on the Chestnut Oak today, and remembered something I thought should be followed up on. At one point, I noted that more than 90% of the Chestnut oak trunks had dead caterpillars on them. All of them just dead, stopped in their tracks. Below is one example I photographed...

    The Plane Boss!

I know, I did the same. But I clearly remember it.

    The Plane Boss!

But the real question is Guy, have you ever heard anyone on this board suggest that (and not necessarily Google) in the time you've been a member? I have. It was just a suggestion made many years ago when we first started seeing them.

    The Plane Boss!

I think this was at least 15-20 years ago. I don't recall any of us being firm about it, just a theory at the time. We were relatively new to viewing aerials, but later than Terraserver.

    The Plane Boss!

Oh gee, I forgot you had such a very thin skin Boyd, like the membrane of a dragonfly wing. Ask some of the older guys about the "the plane boss!" comment, they'll know. The plane aerial comment was directed to all the older forum members. Some used to say they were put there in case someone...

On the ground with the high-res LIDAR

Al, was looking at some old posts, and never noticed your question. The deadload is built to the same weight as a fully loaded jet fighter. When they first build the catapults on new construction of an aircraft carrier, they have to test them out, to ensure the cats function properly, which is...

    The Plane Boss!

It must have something to do with the way the photo is viewed. Even if you zoom in under 1,000 feet, everything is still in the photo, even if it's at a high altitude. Boyd, we have mentioned this many, many times over the years. You likely are just getting old and having memory issues. :)

    The Plane Boss!

Here it is with Cape May Airport. I can't see him leaving any of those runways at the angle shown.

    The Plane Boss!

The way I figured it was 500 feet or so, how could I determine those poles in the powerline unless I was that close? If you zoom out, you cannot see them.

    The Plane Boss!

This is odd. I'm looking at Cape May County on aerials, planning for visits this coming season. You know those planes we always see in aerials, and we always say they were just put there by the manager of the aerial? Well, this one has contrails. Below is a closer look, and I think I'm less than...

New Spielberg UFO movie filming in Woodbine

I was in Milmay 3 times in the last couple years, looking at plants in that big spung south of the main road. Not much there, as you both already know.

Yes, I didn't learn about the Pig-Pen and Janis romance until just a few years ago.

I can imagine them (Big Brother and Janis) in Frisco in some underground bar, making the local hipsters move and shout.

    Music for the day

Do you older guys remember this one? This band came out in 1967. I love the album cover. Turns out it was fashioned from a popular painting. I'm going to have one on my wall. Also, a good band and great vocals. They were cutting edge.

We are both getting old Scott, and both losing our memory. I could swear I posted this song about 10 years ago, and you liked it then too!

I like older country. Here is the Grateful Dead's Bob Weir doing a Marty Robbins song in fine style.
