Garmin introduces the GPSMap 64 series

I lost my Oregon in the Parker Preserve Thursday. I think I know where the area is, and will be looking for it. I am not really too keen on it, but it is better than a GPS without aerial views. The birds eye images are too dark for my taste, the interface with Base Camp is clunky, and Base...

Narragansett makes a good cream ale. Hard to find though around here.

    Hoppy spotted....

Just imagine that creature without a tail. Put your finger over the tail on the screen to see what it looks like. Frightening! It would be quick and nimble, with a giant head. The better to eat you with!

    Webb's Mill

Yes, though I did not take a photo. Some of the sticks remain. I'm not sure what was done, actually.

    Webb's Mill

I checked out the dam today. Working great. I'd like to thank the people who did it, but don't know who. There are some nice things out there right now: Purple bladderwort in the pond. Turks Cap on the other side of the road from the dam. Xyris smalliana in the pond. A lot of it. I don't see...

    plant ID

Hi Jeff. Long time no see. Your thinking is right on target. An interesting exercise is to try and identify everything in these photos. Most have to be based upon vegetative characteristics, so there could be an error or two. Some are a guess! In these photos we can see: Lophiola aurea or...

    Where is this?

Yes, it is indeed. I also know Oji got it because of the plant he cited, but he chose to be cryptic. :p

That is quite an impressive backwater Al. I was down your way several days ago, poking around Dennisville, Woodbine, and Tuckahoe. The straight run on Pine Swamp road was very interesting. I stopped midway and shut off the motorcar. Very quiet. I was also quite impressed with the diverse...

I liked that one Gabe. I make mistakes a lot when writing (you don't see most of them, I edit a lot)...it sounds good in my head but comes out oddly. Do you think most Americans are dumb, or just fools? One thing I detest is all those come-on phrases that the media uses to make you click on a...

    Lebanon State Forest Project

That is a cool find about the raceway Guy. That was a popular drinking spot when I lived out that way. The canal is neat too. I'd like to explore that area more. I used to stop at the gaging station just to get out of the house and be somewhere nice.
