    Lebanon State Forest Project

Guy, in looking over this thread, could your location for Pasadena station be reversed in the link? I'm going by the offshoot road in the bottom of the diagram. And, there is more room for a station on the other side.

    Hampton upper forge?

That, Willy, is a very good question. We were up there several years ago on the west side of the river, and the river in this area looks odd, like man had a hand in this one section. It looks sort of dug out and "canalish"?

60th anniversary of the Chatsworth Fire

That was quite an interesting video on the Bass River fire. We have explored in those woods, and if I recall, went up that river corridor. That is no place to send a big truck like that. Seriously. The poor guys were probably lost once they got in there without a road. Besides, what is one truck...

    A lapse of judgement

I took off my knee high boots during lunch Saturday in the woods south of Chatsworth. I left them off to explore a patch of knee high vegetation. I am really paying for that now. I have over 40 bites around my waist and crotch. Awful. When chiggered like this, it is hard to concentrate on much...

    Chopping down a tree?

Very impressive indeed. I really like the old-time photo.

    Fortescue

Interesting article, but really, it went in several different directions. http://www.newsworks.org/index.php/local/item/70134-neighbors-at-odds-over-buy-outs-in-bayshore-villages-in-cumberland-county-nj?linktype=hp_topstory

    Cooling Suits

You are absolutely correct about that. And since I'm more in the pines, it's easy to miss it.

    Cooling Suits

Yes, but I don't want to carry a power source. I read a lot about the vests today. There is a very good analysis of cooling vest for people with MS, as keeping cool is very important to their health. This one is the winner, but pricey. Still...

    Thanks 46'r. I'll try it.

    Cooling Suits

One of the most hostile environments in my little world is a New Jersey maritime swamp in July and August. For starters, the flies will take chunks out of you, and they don't give up. The heat and humidity is of course very high due to it being mid-summer and the rampant vegetation increases the...

Historic Preservation in Wharton State Forest: A Lost Cause?

Very comprehensively written Mark, even though slanted to highlight culture south of the Mullica. :D

    Webbs Mill boardwalk

Thanks. Perhaps an eccentric person. Or, and this may be more likely, a caravan of ATV's trailered by a truck (from outside the area)are using it for an impromptu camp.

Can you be more specific regarding this spot? I can't tell where you mean. Is this the location?

Aerial Video of Forked River Mountain Area

Very nice. I hate to see that now they are having fires on the East side. More crap to clean up and keep nice looking.

    Paper Wasps

Now that you mention it, I see a decrease too. I have a railing on my wood deck that has some hidden areas where they would build nests, and I'd have to spray because people lean on the railing, and children poke around in there. But, I have not seen them in awhile.

    Bottle hunting reccomendations

Here is an interesting broken bottle kicked up by my tire when I parked in the woods today in Chatsworth. It is only 1 1/4" in diameter. Pretty stingy. Here is what I can read: Garrett and Co. Inc. Established 1835 Virginia Dare Wine New York Contents 2/5 pint. There's a patent number on the...

That sounds interesting. Is that a pastime still enjoyed by many, or are the restrictions too onerous?
