I agree with Guy. And if Guy and I see less deer, then there are less deer to be seen.

    Flower ID

No Tom, please permit a correction. He is the older piney with the beard. I spoke to him at the Whitesbog festival. He seems to be around my age, perhaps a tad older. That flower seems to be Bidens coronata.

    Re-Exploring the Forked River Mountains

That new bridge is amazing. Who would have thought the State would just do that? Really surprises me. Looks like they took down that poison sumac too. I like the before and after photos. Everything sinks eventually.

Bill, I know you are a good old guy who loves the forest, and that you see what they are doing as right and necessary. You mean well, I accept that. Lets just leave it there.

Not so Bill. I"m not anti. I just do not like the spin. It is the wrong way to push an agenda. On that website, here is what Joe Matter, Chairman of the Quail Project thinks of Pinelands Preservation: "This is what we've achieved through the preservation concept, a highly combustible fuel...

Bill, did Anthony add hikers in there to make some of us feel good as if we had a stake in Mr. Anthony P. Mauro's grand designs? I looked at those web sites and that group really sways far toward hunting, fishing, and trapping and zero else. If they sprinkle hikers in at all its just to make...

That is the little spung just west of Wells and on the north side of the road? Very nice shot. That spung often has less water.

    Fishing today

Jeff, old Gibby Giberson told me of the pork rind lure from the old days. Take a fresh white piece as long as that plastic and split it into two tails. I never got the knack of it. It looks like that plastic is the pork rind with the best possible weight and motion.

I'm sorry you'll be leaving the Pines Sue. The 2 Parker Preserves in Chatsworth might look good from the air. Or if you could get it up on the road to Governor's pond near the Warren Grove Range.
