    Little Things

The Spring rains have been fabulous for the flora, and the fauna are not doing bad either. Here are some little things I have found over the past week. Guy, I counted 5 still there. This one has the best chance of making it, but it has a fatal flaw in its future...

Okay. Thanks for the explanation. I understand you better now. Anxiety definitely can aggravate situations.

Wading The Sleeper, And Other Interesting Places

That first video is a hoot Al. Stirring up the mud again I see! I was actually down your way last night. That is quite a hot spot for plants.

    Possible Tick Illness

That's pretty blunt of you foofoo. You're not inside his skin, so you really have no idea what he's going through.

    Bamber Hunting Lodge

By the way, the beaver have damn near blocked the stream altogether. I'll bet only 25% of the original flow is now under the bridge. The road is horrible.

    Bamber Hunting Lodge

Okay, thanks. Maybe there is something about the area I'll recognize in the photo.

    Bamber Hunting Lodge

PS: I don't like calling this village "Bamber Lake" anymore. It is incorrect. The lake is just Bamber Lake, a part of Bamber. You can see that Britton titled his map "Bamber".

    Bamber Hunting Lodge

Here's some clues. This is a hand-drawn map from 1910 by Mr. Britton: And the 1833 topo. You can see the name Collins on both of these. Zeb might be buried in the old cemetary off Dover road.

    Alquatka Branch: Summer Redux

Nice shots. I always say..."I'll be back at such and such time of year for the flowers"....but don't always make it. It looks like you left at almost the same spot we did to get out at that road. Did you cross a canal there?

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I'm gonna remove the nighthawks after a bit as I'm afraid I'll find it on a strangers web site like I did with my avatar.

Tom, I enjoyed poking around the woods with you last nite. I keyed it out. It is definitely Amianthium muscaetoxicum.......fly poison. Do not slice the bulb like an onion for your liverwurst sandwich. You won't survive the night. :)

    Bamber Hunting Lodge

Thats very cool Jerseyman. I have decided to do one on deer stands also. I estimate that about 18,000 pages will cover it, but only the years from 1900 to 1930. I plan a second edition after that.

    Bamber Hunting Lodge

That is the first I've heard of it Marcia. I live in Bamber and there was an old wooden building behind my house that is long gone, but it was not that big, I doubt it could be that. Now you have piqued my interest.
