Pinelands woodland survival seminar on June 18

Boy, that brings back memories. That guy "Broke Jeep Joe" could not laugh with the rest of the world. His butt was wound so tight that he took off like a helicopter.

Nothampton River location in Burlington County?

Jerseyman... thanks for that info! A neighbor gave it to me. He told me he was cleaning out the attic of the church in Forked River and the preacher gave it to him.

A Great Day In The Pines

Mike, 99% of the time I agree that we should just leave the Beavers alone. However, Webbs Mill Bog is a special place. Man's activities back there have unwittingly created a bog that is a stunning showcase for native Pine Barren plants. It is a place that attracts visitors from all over. It is...

Nothampton River location in Burlington County?

Thanks. There is also a section of an 1812 map in the same frame. I'm going to unload this somewhere since it is taking up space. Both must be just copies by a gent in the 1920's. "Secured by Walter T. Otto, 1921".

Nothampton River location in Burlington County?

Say Jerseyman, while on the subject of Wills in Burlington County, do you know if the Thomas Potter Will is in there? The reason I ask is that I have a document in my possesion that is either the Will itself or merely a copy. In the Will he gives land for a church to John Murray, founder of the...

    Flying Squirrel

Rarely seen in the pines as they are secretive and nocturnal. This one got chased up my neighbors trampoline. I did a red-eye correction.

Good to go on those tick shots Guy! Thanks Al, for hosting us Down Jersey. I had a good time. I'll see you down there again. I ended up going along the Maurice River Bluffs on the blue trail, then I oozed on home slowly. I stopped in a couple spots. I spent a half hour on the side of the...

    Beer (again)

My friend at work sometimes hangs around an older gent, 6 foot 7, and built like a Mac truck. He won't drink beer, says "its dirty". To him vodka is the drink of choice due to its uncanny ability to simply "deliver the goods".

    Plant ID

As to the damselfly the latin is Enallagma civile. The common name is Common Bluet. They were probably mating and are now together in the after-life. There is 3 there? A damselfly will hold his wings parallel to body when at rest, unlike a dragonfly, who thinks he really is a bi-plane.
