    Slag Question

Hmmm, I could be wrong, but I smell a book in the works. Good!

    When the Ferraris stopped.....

I saw a Monet painting in Philadelphia with the pond lilies and trees in the background. I was stunned by the vibrancy and colors in that painting. Nice photos.

Micks bought out Pine Barrens canoe rental

Jammed Ed? I see a lot less river traffic than you and I would see in the late 70's. Who in their right mind would give up that business if it was thriving? Its a no-brainer to operate.

    Oswego Run 5-16

Hi bushwacker--that put-in is only about 1/8 of the way towards Dover Forge (you meant Dover Forge, right?).

    WMA cleanup project

Dave, the Forked River Mountain Coalition does a lot of cleanup in Greenwood. We don't get it all of course, but we have tentacles out there in most locations. and its pretty clean. We don't cross 539 on the Western side, but that is fairly clean anyway. A cleanup takes some scouting to find...

No sub, this is along the road a little bit east of the lake. There is a short road into the woods. I think a 17 footer would be okay. Not the best, but ok. PS: unless you mean the "regular" access. Yes, that is along the lake road....easy to see. Its right by the road.

Yes, these guys got me going. I am really excited to go all the way up to the main road. A real exploring trip, you dig? It will have to be a full day, and we have to leave early. I'd like to get out this week or next and check out this spot right here to see if we can get a canoe in there...

    Oswego Run 5-16

I don't know, but it seems kind of strange that on the other thread about the Oswego, the upper part is moving very fast. However, I just thought of something. They might have been dragging "because" of the strong current pushing sand into ridges.

That right, 5 hours is a long, long way. Now you have me wanting to do it next month. It opens up real nice like far up there. Did you make it this far?

I second that Mark. No way should the Oswego be low right now. No way.

You are correct on the plant ID's Piker. But, give me an out on the blueberry. That genus is highly variable in the pines, so it could be NJ Blueberry too, or some type of hybrid.

    Let's have some fun

Say Boys, did you ever see that satellite imagery of "Gigantic City"? It is at a creek called Deep Run that runs into the Egg Harbor River. My oh my! That is an interesting place. On the photos is looks like the creek is a huge spring seep. We should cross that one day.

No, it was more like a bark. :)

    Let's have some fun

Boys, I'm not in total agreement with the Great Swamp of Sleepy Creek. That mother of a swamp behind the resevoir on Haines property (Hauken Run) is thick with cedars, and it extends below the resevoir. And, it is contiguous all the way to the Wading River proper. That is a hell of a big...

    April Blooms

Nice pond shot! I think that is lily of the valley. You are correct, not endemic to the pines. It had leaves like this, right? http://imnopoodle.files.wordpress.com/2008/06/lily-of-the-valley.jpg

    Exploring Hampton Gate Woods Again

In Deep Guy! I had in mind a PBX "big" trip from where you started down to the road from Atsion, and thence to Quaker Bridge Road where that little pond is.
