    My map project

Boyd, I do hear what you are saying here, but we have to add in the fact that on the first try you did not enter into a section of whitespace, with no identifiable landmarks--you get to the stake, or stump, or monument, or plant, or eagle nest and mark it proper. From then on you should always...

Ocean County poised for Forked River Mountains purchase

Yes it is Jeff, very much so. Especially now. We have the geographic technology that allows us to pick and choose which areas to explore and we have several other factors on our side in this day and age: 1.) The pines are still pretty much the same as when the furnaces were in blast, in fact...

    Atlantic County Exploring Part.2

Gravelled foot path? I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean by that. What is this term "path" that many speak of on this site. Just kidding James. I use them all the time, when forced to. :)

    Atlantic County Exploring Part.2

Good photos of that glass house area Jim. It moves me to go take a look-see. I have never been there.

From the Chamberlain to Long Causeway

I think I agree with you 100%. Whenever I see a little stream that is running tight between its banks, and I know that it comes from the deep piney woods, I relish that. Here is the stream further upstream from the photo of Guy. My kinda woods for sure. After we reached the little stream...

From the Chamberlain to Long Causeway

Guy, Chris's coordinates are right on. That is where we were when I took that photo of you. Remember when we got out of the truck and walked down to where an old road crosses the Shreve's Branch? PS: In that link you posted above, the ground is unaturally white on the West side of the Shoal...

From the Chamberlain to Long Causeway

Chris, I didn't mind them they way they were. I don't care for it much when they dig them up like that. There is, to me at least, some aesthetic beauty in an abandonded bog. The long vision range it creates after being in the close woods is often welcome. It had plenty of plant life, and...

From the Chamberlain to Long Causeway

My pine barren brother poses in a nice cedar swamp with a clean, deep stream. Bringing you reports from the deep woods for about 40 years now.

Heres the best I could do. Tundra Swans I think is another name. Same as snow geese?

    barren nights

Excellant shot! The water front and center draws the eye in. Tuesday Afternoon was the very first 45 record I ever bought. In Presidential Lakes, in the late 60's, when the jukebox records were changed out, you could buy the old ones for a quarter(?). I used my paperboy money. I played it 50...

    barren nights

Very well said Bill. I jazz up the color saturation on many of my photos too for the same purpose. I just cannot get on camera what I see with my eye.

    Daytime Wandering's

I like the look of that Lake Lenape. I could settle there some day.

    Beer (again)

I'll try that, sounds good! I have been drinking Sam Adams Pale Ale. I really like it. I'll save my Millers High Life for High summer! I bought Ballentine Ale on a whim. Won't do that anymore. It was harsh.

Nice photos of that lake and marsh. Where is that? More captions with your photos would be great.

Ocean County poised for Forked River Mountains purchase

Thanks Jeff! I modeled it after your album cover. I heard two of your songs on my Itunes within the past week and they sound great! The Pine Barrens song really fits our culture and landscape. I know its hard to visualize, but we really are part of the Pine Barren culture. That relationship...

Ocean County poised for Forked River Mountains purchase

It is a nice thing to do, but for the newspaper to call it the Forked River Mountains is a real stretch. The mountains are about 2.5 miles from the edge (by my reckoning).

    REI=Really Expensive Implements

I always wanted to visit Campmoor. I went by there one time to check out a college for my daughter way the hell up by the Ramapo mountains. Who is EMS? I find Kislins to be overpriced and, like you say, limited. I think another discount store with good selection is really needed in this area.

    OT-Barnie to get lit......

Enough to jump in the ocean to commemorate the event? If so, I'll be there to see that (again)! :)

    Burglaries in Tabernacle

Good luck with that Jeff. I hope they get them soon so you can have peace of mind. That sort of thing happened twice in Bamber since I"ve been here. It was a team both times (man and woman), from a surrounding big town like Toms River or Lakewood. Lacey Police are very good at collaring criminals.
