    History of this Canal

Have you ever gone here Al? A kind of ridge. Very cool. Did a PBX trip in 2001 or so that crossed it.

    History of this Canal

Maybe the wind drove ESE in between the ridges too fast to light the ridges up good?

    Webb's Mill Stones

Very cool Guy. I'm glad you are setting things straight. Is that just a moss-covered stump next to the stone in the second photo?

    Google Earth Panoramio Layer Gone!

I'll bet Boyd and Ben could make a similar thing here for posting photos on an aerial by just forum members. I'm just say'n. I do realize it would take servers and time.

    Henry Drinker

Yeah, you have to be careful dealing with those Scott-Irish. Like a powder keg next to the campfire. I wonder why Charles Read felt he was treated unfairly when he sold Drinker and Abel James furnace machinery from Etna so that they could use it at Atsion? Perhaps it was just his mind...

Most Remote Area in the Pines

I think you are on the right track Ed, and I have another twist to that. I rate remoteness on the difficulty or reluctance someone who doesn't know the woods would have in trying to follow my tracks in to say hello. :D

    Google Earth Panoramio Layer Gone!

Interesting, if nothing else. I'd like to see a better quality map. I can hardly see that one.

    Announcing the new NJPB Maps

Your Lidar is super-fast on my machine. Only a tiny fraction of a second, and the entire screen comes up, just like a light going on in a room.

The Culprit Exposed: Miller's Bog Sunset

I would agree with you if it's just ponds, we created them mostly. But Atlantic White Cedar corridors are at least 4,000 years old. Relatively young for the area true, but the Wisconsin glacial episode was definitely a reset of norms, and Atlantic white cedar was one of the pioneer species after...

The Culprit Exposed: Miller's Bog Sunset

When that survey came out on the DEP wildlife strategy I responded very strongly about beaver creating havoc in the pine barrens.
