Burlington County bogs produce a bountiful crop

Good stuff guy. Wasn't Tildon (Uncle Till) the one in Jersey Genesis who..."was a village wrestler, tought by a father who, once confronted in the swamps by a wildcat, killed the animal with a club". (page 184) Says he was the son of Francis Robineau who was named for a Hessian soldier...

    Sunglass Shot

:) Thanks all. I also counted over 200 water fowl on the lake at the time of the shot. Mark, very interesting. I had never heard of it before. I googled it to wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tunguska_event

    Governor's Speech

Have heart Trailhead! At least he is trying to do something. He is being ASSAULTED by those who think they know better. And yet, they don't know better cause they don't have to REALLY deal with it. All they know how to do is criticize. Take a GOOD look at what else he is proposing...

    Governor's Speech

Meaning? Financial trouble? Why yes, caused by the last few governors (Read: Whitman) who borrowed money until the state is in the poorhouse.

    Camping on Delaware Water Gap

I camped right on the river here when I was in my 20's. They allow tent camping, and the trail to sunfish pond is right across the road. http://www.nj.gov/dep/parksandforests/parks/worthington.html

The Remoteness of Frank Ford Road

Very smooth my Pine Barren Brothers. Very smooth! That ruin looks very old indeed. I like high and dry inaccessible areas. The are hard to come by.

    Knockin' Around

George, About 9 years ago the entire family was on the way home from work. We rounded the bend on Lacey road at that pretty lake that changes wonderfully with the seasons. Right there, in broad daylight, in full view of the road at a nice litte clearing where people fish, an old codger was...

    Knockin' Around

I think she is correct. Although fungus is not my bag, she seems to have nailed it.."Fomes applanatum". Scott, were those pines CCC planted? That looks like thier handiwork. Or is that what you meant by Parks and Forestry.

    Stormy Hill

Jim, I would say that it 'is' on private property, and that the only way there is by a road 'through' private property. If you notice, the Wharton State Forest boundary is on the southeast edge of the hill area. This is a guess, but I think its a decent one when you look at the map...

    Question about Cedar Grove Park

Something seems puzzling about this series of posts. Either the original locations cited are wrong (Warren Grove, Stafford WMA, SIM Place Road), or the end result is wrong. I remember seeing a real estate sign from the early 20th century in one of the historical photos, but I can't find it now...

    Puddles

Mike, do you know whats scary? Some enduro and motocross riders ride so fast the tires only hit the tops of those humps. I've seen it, and I know for a fact that crazy guy Woodjin has done it before. He is one wild dude, I swear.
