    Oh, our economy is crushed!

My life in beers (chronologically): Bud in Quarts (used to get a legal buddy to buy them; 55 cents a quart), Bud 12 oz. cans, Bud 7 ounce bottle nips, Heiniken (brief forays mind you, according to ones wallet thickness), Genesse Cream Ale (long time, maybe 5 years), Rolling Rock (just dabbled...

    West Plains Waltz

The little branch of the plains branch that crosses the Red Road; I hiked a trail just north of there that led to the East, then Dead ended. I found a deer stand hidden in the woods that had a similar view. 4 weeks ago. Lovely.

    West Plains Waltz

If you mean the Nature Conservancy spot, yes. It is by the lake where the cabin was. By trails, do you mean hiking? Yes, any of those sand roads are great for hiking. Not much traffic at all. Steve and I sat down in the middle of one at 185 feet and had lunch in the sun.

    West Plains Waltz

Very cool Jeff. That skull is a very rare find. Were you just West of the Plains Branch when you were in the savannah? I was in there with Mike before. Lot of hunting goes on in there, there are many clubs in the area. Or, were you West of the Red Road? That one road shot looks like you were in...

    West Plains Waltz

Was it brutal? Yes it was. Was it fun? Yes it was. Was it a good day? Yes. Guy, you were right and it was as I kind of expected too. The West plains are very difficult to navigate in because they have both thicker and slightly higher growth. We only made one of the hills by bushwacking. I...

    West Plains Waltz

Tomorrow is another sunny, fairly moderate day; very rare for this late in the year. I plan to take a walkabout with Buddy to the West Plains. I will be visiting 4 peaks I hereby name "Tipper", "Tapper", "Topper", and "Top". Am I looking for a nose bleed? No, just quiet beauty in a land...

    Moonlight in the pines

Cool as a cucumber. I was just reading that the moon was created when our planetary system formed by having a large hunk of planetary material slam into earth with such force that it knocked enough material out of earth to form the moon.

    Goshen in Camden or Burlington?

It's interesting that the RR map shows a stop on the Tuckerton Railroad named "Middle Branch". The Middle Branch crosses the old bed at that point, but why name it on the map?

I don't know, Ebsi, whether wind power is such a great idea along the Atlantic Flyway for migratory birds.

    Greenwood Jaunt

Jeff, I think the powerline road was a necessary dam for the one side. But, who knows, it may have been a natural little pond even before that. The hill on the south side rises to 174 feet, making for a lot of collection in one spot.

    Greenwood Jaunt

Yes, it does seem out of place. I'm betting the company that designed the habitat did not know it was inaccessible to most when they made it. I hope they keep the area closed off to vehicles. That is something I really like about it. I did not remember seeing the word rattlesnake and there were...

    How to shoot Landscapes

Well, Tristate called me today, said they could not get the canon lens, said they would sell me the same one the others are offering for this camera, but it would be a .5 lens. I explained to him the formula, but he said that with a digital camera, it does not apply. He said the .5 would give me...
