    Same tree different light

As 46'er said, you can never be 100% certain. You can be observant however. A truck parked near a bog in my neck of the woods this week means a duck hunter. I ran into two duck hunters and a bow hunter's truck tonight while taking my dog and gun for a walk across the street from my house. I was...

    Same tree different light

There is no excuse for any hunter to shoot at anything other than their intended target or to shoot when they do not no what is beyond their target. That incident should have been reported on the spot and the hunter should have been cited. You can call 1-877-WARN DEP (877-927-6337) 24 hours a...

Article: Please Stop Tagging the Locations of Your Outdoor Photographs

Oh, by the way, never trust the guy who says “Look, I’ll take you to this really cool place but you can’t tell anyone and don’t ever bring anyone back there.” How do you suppose he found it ? I’ve been on the offering end too with a few deep woods waterfowl spots and I learned my lesson forever...

Article: Please Stop Tagging the Locations of Your Outdoor Photographs

Many of the most remote and beautiful places in the Pines were shown to me by people who have the same appreciation for the woods that I have. Other than that, finding places on your own after perusing a good map and extracting some lat/lon using a touch modern technology is very rewarding.

Police in New Jersey search for alligator on the loose

If that photo goes with the article I don't think I see an alligator. Must have been the same photographer that captures all of the Bigfoot sightings. :) Never mind, I watched the video. It's a gator !

    Eating Squirrel

The hardest thing about prep is the skinning. Unlike a rabbit whose comes off almost as easy as pulling off a sock, squirrel are more difficult. There are many good YouTube videos on skinning. After gutting I quarter them and boil for about an hour in water with a little vinegar and salt. I...

    Remembering 9/11

A picture I will always be proud of and a sad memory for this somber date. This is my hard-working father who never missed a day of work in all the years that I can remember. He is assembling a television station transmitter antenna that was later delivered for installation on top of the World...

    Remembering 9/11

I'll never get the surreal feeling after hearing that the second tower was hit. I was working alone on a construction site and listening to the radio in my truck when the first tower was struck. No one on the radio stations that I flipped through knew if it was an accident or any other clear...
