    Beer (again)

Negatory P'man. Hammonton Canal's perhaps ? I noticed it is a seasonal. Still around ? I had recently a shunt put in so I can get Maximus as a direct feed into my bloodstream. :)

Great photographs man. I am trying to get the snake spit off my monitor as we speak.

    New law in effect today

This new law will continue to encourage a climate of stupidity and ignorance amongst pedestrians. The "yield to pedestrian" signs currently installed at crosswalks appear to have a force field associated with them that enables families with children to blindly step off the curb and into...

He is not here, He has risen

He has risen indeed ! Luke 24:39 "Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have." Very thoughtful of you Bob.

    Mountain West, a PBX Hike.

Well boys, that was a good one and it let us know we have some training to do. A simple five mile waltz through the woods on paper ended up being a nine miler by the end of the day in the real world. It had all of our asses dragging. This was the first major PBX'er for my springer Murphy...

    Curly Fern Enduro Today 3-28-10

Today is the 43rd running of the Curly Fern Enduro run throughout Wharton with home base being the Indian Mills Gun Club on Atsion Road. Be mindful of our two-wheeled brethren when in the woods today. Scott

    Ghosts in the Hollow

This mine tour is in Ashland Pa. near Centralia. http://www.pioneertunnel.com/home.shtml I took it about 15 years ago when my kids were younger. It is not quite as touristy as it looks and the subsurface part of the trip is impressive. http://www.pioneertunnel.com/minetour.html

    More Eco Terrorism?

I started driving through the pines in 1968 on hunting trips to the Bulltown rye strips with my dad and his buddy and I started driving through the woods myself in 1975. I think I have only a vague recollection of where I have been and I sometimes know where I am going. Beer might have, or had...

Pleasant Mills Footbridge Ice and/or Flood Damage

We took the dogs out for a swim this afternoon in the Mullica and in the stream along the marked trail that leads from Pleasnat Mills to Atsion. This is within the historic lakebed of the dammed section of the Mullica behind Pleasnt Mills Church and the location of the post I put together on...

    Atsion train picture.

Let me try. The train is an early prototype of what later became widely known as the Choo Choo Train. The man in the top hat is one Choo Choo Charles who later lent his good name to the marketing of Good and Plenty candies. Good and Plenty was first manufactured in 1893 by the Quaker City...

Get togethers, Events, and trip reports.....a week in review

It always amazes me that Bill Gates finds the time to visit South Jersey and participates in these local Pine Barrens related activities. :)

5th Annual Lines on the Pines "About Blueberries and Cranberries"

Sounds like she's got me pegged. We missed you guys and girls. I did a little getaway weekend to Tilghman Island, MD with the wife, some buddies and their wives. Good weekend for bayside bars. Hopefully, we will make it to Lines next year. Scott

Fisher persons, time to get worried....

Wonderful. Don't forget to register to salt water fish this year so that the feds can figure out more better who they are screwing over. The sea bass debacle last fall was the most ridiculous, unfounded regulatory sham I have ever seen. Talk about econmic repercussions and bad timing.

HELP Needed Listing ALL NJ Pine Barrens Species

Very nicely done Danny B. You can add bull frog to the amphibian list. I would start with chiggers for the invertebrates since they hold such a special place in the ankles of those who have met them.

    Wing thing re-cap....(keeping it civil)

The bride and I enjoyed ourselves very much. My hollow leg served me well that night. A finer group in the Pines would be hard to find. Thanks everyone. Scott

    Music for the day

Who knew it was the Dating Game theme ? Wow. I still can't beleive we didn't win with the eclectic brain trust sitting at our table. If only they had hunting or fishing questions.

Thanks Ben. A very interesting read. I like the sales pitch for the whole iron works. They really covered all the amenities.
