    Croc sighting reported in Haddonfield

Trapping snappers is NOT illegal and something that goes on a lot around here. It is covered under a NJ fishing license and they can be trapped or caught by hook and line, which I have done. I would use bluefish hooks with wire leaders and half-dead sunnies for bait. The only changes to the...

To buy or not to buy-Garmin eTrex Legend Cx

I have the 60CSX too and it was worth the extra scratch. You can find it for $369 at thegpsstore.com I have the Northeast Topo micro sd chip ($76.00 +/-) and the Bluechart for the Jersey coast ($146 +/-). I don't have any street nav chips and don't plan on getting any. The built in base map...

Head out to Colliers Mills this afternoon / Colliers Mills North 5-12-07

Although it doesn't hide dents, the white paint does the best job of any color at hiding the woods stripes. Did you experiment with your low range at all? As you know, I have the 6 speed manual with the creeper in mine and in low range/creeper you have all 550 ftlbs of torque available at a...

    Crash Course

I would take them down 206, wander around Parkdale for about an hour and then say, "Whew, man am I thirsty." I would then take them to the Pic-A-Lilly for some frosty ones and some wings. End of tour. :)

    A Simpson's Sky

They are on Deep Run. I can't believe I couldn't raise a pickerel on live bait in there. I tried three different bogs without a tap.

    A Simpson's Sky

On Sunday afternoon I took the dog back to the bogs off Hampton Gate Road for a little minnow drowning. The fish weren't biting but the sky and the bogs were awe inspiring. With the cool air and north wind, the sky was truly a Simpson's sky. It made for some beautiful shots...

Wading River to Wading Pines, a PBX Hike.

I found the amount of trash along the waters' edge very disturbing. I think we got to see a more drastic visual in the lower tidal reaches where the recent nor'easter and flood tides have pushed a rack line well into the woods. The occasional flip-flop and some trash are probably a result of...

Wading River to Wading Pines, a PBX Hike.

What a good day to be alive and in the pines. I started the day off with a thorough boot soaking in a sphagnum swamp in the first half hour but Bob saved my day with a pair of poly socks and gore tex booties. We were able to see and feel what most visitors to the pines never see, that is the...

What dangerous animals live in the pines?

Any animal that appears to have a foamy white beard would be a good one to avoid. Other than that, most of the timid woodland creatures are very timid. You are not likely to have a face to face with anything other than a raccoon looking for a half eaten Reese's under your sleeping bag. :)

    Are these snakes in pines?

    Are these snakes in pines?

I don't hate snakes, I said I didn't like them. As for things furry and cute, I shoot most of them, skin them, brine them, smoke them over cherry wood and eat them for dinner. :) Scott

    Are these snakes in pines?

I am very serious. I won't even hold a garter snake. I would never intentionally harm them though. I fully understand their position in the Big Picture.

    Are these snakes in pines?

Don't like snakes, not even a little bit. Never did, never will. Even God cast them in a bad light. :)

    Millers Bog

You are correct on all counts. Fred Miller operates the active bogs adjacent to Boot Hill. Boot Hill is mostly Hammontonians and they only lease or rent from Miller. The Miller's Bogs at Pestletown are a different system of bogs but somehow I am sure the Milllers at Dutchtown and the Millers...

    Tabernacle considers regulating firearms use

I hunted a beautiful piece private land in Tabernacle in 1995 where my older son get his first deer. It was a large farm off Carranza Road but unfortunately it was adjoined by residential susdivisions in several spots. One of the adjoiners used to post whacky signs at the end of his driveway...

    Millers Bog

I have looked before on the Wharton survey maps along the stretch of "Miller's Bog" here in Pestletown and I don't think there were any Miller name references in the stretch from the Old White Horse Pike to Iron Mills. Scott

    stove & frig.

I had a Kelvinator from the 50's on my back porch at home here for about 7 years. I would hit it with a wire wheel every few years and hit it with Rustoleum spray paint. It had the good old fashioned kid killer handle that shut like a bank vault. The guy that gave it to me had it outside on...

Suresue, Is the refigerator a refrigerator/freezer? If so, about how big? I need a another "Redneck Refrigerator" for the patio outside our trailer down near the shore. I need the freezer for making ice blocks and stockpiling bait. My hand me down from last year took a s and I have to...
