Is the water from artesian wells safe to drink?

I often drink from the one in Ewansville, Southampton Township. It is common to see other folks there filling up their jugs too. That one has a pleasant mineral taste. Taste wise, to me at least, it has a nice subtle balance of iron, calcium, and sulpher.

    Granny Smith

I spent many years researching the subject of Lenape ancestry in South Jersey, especially in the Pinelands. Initially this was to research my own family's Native ancestry, but as I went, the research grew beyond my own family's history. I found quite a bit of compelling evidence, some of which I...

A Pines settlement called "Chicken Bone"?

I actually live over near the old San Domingo tract. I know that neighborhood your talking about, did not know of the names Clarksborough and Sand Hill in connection with that community, have always just known the neighborhood as "the hill". Nope, I'm not familiar with Clarksboro and Sand Hill, I don't know of William Boen either. This is all in the Mount Holly area? I'm not surprised if it is, so much history in my town. WOW, you were seriously involved in Timbuctoo! Sure sounds like you've been busy.Yeah, that's an interesting...

A Pines settlement called "Chicken Bone"?

A few years ago I was at one of the Pinelands Short Courses over at BCC when I heard about this. One of the discussions I sat in on was about the history of the Cedar Bridge Skirmish at the end of the revolutionary war. The man giving the talk(wish I could remember his name) was very...

    Weird cat building in Atsion

I'll go ask the owner, I know where to find him, where is favored watering hole is ;) I do know that his family lived in it many years ago, that is the older front half, the newer back half, which obviously was never finished, he built himself in the late 70's... I think. His family also owned...

    Weird cat building in Atsion

I am acquainted with the owner of the the property. Its a feral cat colony on private property and the owner feeds them everyday. The owner gets really upset about people trespassing back there due to all the vandalism problems which he has had over the years. Best to just steer clear of there...

    Brotherton and Weekping Indian Communities

That is an excellent website on both Brotherton and Weekping. That site is run by Rich Walling. He also does research on the Lenape in other parts of North America. He certainly has a knack for digging up much of the information in New Jersey that other researchers miss.
