    Snake!!!!

Up here - Morris County - the ones I found here are yellow orange underneath with a complete neck ring. I always liked the smell of the musk of ring-necks. Kind of sweet smelling unlike the stink of a water snake. I think it would be neat to breed some of the smaller, more colorful snakes...

Love ringnecks. They are beautiful animals. Very docile also.

    Snake!!!!

Totally agree. Racers are nasty tempered. So are eastern milk snakes and water snakes. Rat snakes are very docile.

    Snake!!!!

Years ago - long before it was illegal, I caught two black two black rat snakes - one in Rhode Island and another in Allamuchy, NJ. Both were about 6 feet long, one made a threat gesture, but neithere even bit me and both did quite well in captivity. They seemed to enjoy being handled. When...

    Golden Eagle Sighting

Awesome birds! Never saw one but I wish IT was the national bird instead of the Bald Eagle - just an overgrown fish hawk.

    The Osprey Whisperer

Yes, these were long, heavy duty work gloves - like gauntlets. But the bird was pretty calm. If it wasn;t I would have used the blanket.

    The Osprey Whisperer

I had an interesting hawk experience several years ago. One of my neighbors, an elderly lady, called me into her backyard and pointed to a large inverted plastic milk crate with several bricks on top of it. She told me to look inside. I did and saw a hawk sitting in there. I asked her what...

    Tonights the night...

I wish this was mandatory in ALL new light fixtures outside and jurisdictions were encouraged to retrofit existing units.

    Brotherton and Weekping Indian Communities

Tried to order that book on the Jersey Blues by William Casterline which was referenced in that Brotherton Site through Lulu publishing, but it didn;t go through. I'm a colonial American war nut. The Last of the Mohegans is my favorite movie. I think I lived back then>

    We have egg's....

Awesome. Went to grad school in RI and there was an Osprey nest on some tall poles out in a swamp near campus. The Ospreys would soar overhead very close to you as you walked around a causeway that circled the swamp. They are awesome birds in flight.

Thank you. I figured the skies would have less light pollution there than in the northern part.
