In an effort to keep everyone here safe in the woods, I'm going to post the 2004-2005 hunting season schedule.

Small Game PDF schedule, 2 pgs.

Deer - season starts Oct 2 and ends Jan 31st.

From now until the end of the season:

Muzzleloader - Dec 27-29
No Hunting - Dec 30-31
Winter Bow Season - Jan 1-31st.

Be safe. Wear safety orange when you're in the woods. And remember, always assume that there is a hunter near you even when you may not see one. Carry FRS radios/cell phones in case of injury. And play it safe - if you get the feeling that a hunter does not want you there, your best bet is to avoid a confrontation and leave.

Ben,
A couple of corrections:
There is hunting for all species, including deer, on Dec. 30 and 31.
Muzzleloader for deer extends to Jan. 7, 2005 and includes New Years Day.
The only day that is ever excluded from muzzleloader and permit shotgun is Christmas day because it is assumed that all check stations are closed. Wives may have played a part in that too.
Muzzleloader and permit shotgun for deer in many zones, zone 25 and 19 for instance, which includes large areas in the pines, run until Jan. 31, 2005.
Small game, including .36 cal. muzzleloader for squirrel, runs until Feb.21, 2005.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I wish some entity would put this out calendar style; show every day and what is going on every day and where. Another suggestion; show where hunting is not allowed but that is open to the public for whatever else; skiing, hiking, etc.

You can pick up a printed, bound version of the game laws at any sporting goods store that sells licenses including big box retailers like Kmart, Dick's etc.
You will find printed tables of small game seasons and printed summaries of all deer seasons that are marked for cutting and carrying in your wallet.
The compendium includes maps of all the deer management zones so you can tell where the seasons are open or closed.
Zone 19 which includes big chunks of Medford, Marlton ,Tabernacle and Shamong is one of the ones with the most special deer permit days.
All State Forests and Wildlife management Areas are open to hunting and a lot of State Parks are partially open to hunting.
Most public areas within a State Forest such as Atsion or Batsto Village are posted with safety zone signs in the immediate vicinity of the buildings and parking areas.
A hunter only has to be a minimum distance of 450' from a building to be legal.
With written permission of the owner, a hunter can hunt closer than 450' if he so desires.
