hey all,

I need a good outdoor leisure activity for the next few wks.. normally, I would ride my bike, kayak, fish (in this nice weather) but i am dealing w/ a chronic occupational usage injury from dentistry.. I have some serious inflammation in a set of tendons in my right wrist.. saw the orthopedic hand specialist today (a great one if anyone needs a referral) and he gave me a shot of cortizone in my right wrist.. and i have to wear a brace all wkend.. so a nice hike sounds good. the young crowd is going tomorrow.. 11.2 miles.. but is anyone else hiking tomorrow.. theres tons out there i havent seen yet

Hey Bob,
I suffered a serious RSI injury to both my hands a few years back (work related). It was real bad. Tendonitis and CPS. I went to four specialists before I found one that got me on successful therpy. I am now completely functional, although I still have to practice routine maintenance exercises and have to limit my time doing certain things.

I refused the cortizone shot because I wanted to know my limitations. I hope you have a successful recovery and I hope you are totally happy with your doctor (it seems like it). If you have any questions (I know you are in the medical field and I am not, but I do have experience in this matter) please feel free to PM me. But don't type too much.

As for hiking...you can't go wrong with the great swamp. It is another world and arguably the most remote area of the barrens.

No, go down 206 south, just about any of the roads on the eastern side of 206 will get you into the swamp just south of atsion all the way down to 613. Guy just did a trip report on the great swamp with photos and maps.
