Kinda lame compared to the Martha report but..............
Took a ride today and stops with middle son Sam down Buddtown,Crowleytown,Greenbank, and back up thru Sweetwater with my actual purpose checking out water levels along the various bridges, rivers and tributaries along roads, etc.
Being it was quiet I decided to stop at Batsto. In as much as I am there frequently and last two times since the new visitor's center haven't checked it out I figured it was a good time. Very nice & clean, kinda wierd so new age but still adhering to the historical significance. To my pleasure the woman working this Saturday I noticed as Terri, a state worker who was a volunteer?/ organizer for the Fall Wharton clean-up day. She remembered me from that day and we engaged in a nice conversation. We got on the subject of NJPINEBARRENS.COM and she related her familiarity with the site as well as Ben and Guy and Scott (REDNEKF350). A very pleasant and easy person to talk to. When I relayed my post entity and she said,
" So you're Largo"
I thought...........RUH,ROH. playing all my posts over in my head.
When she asked curiously I relayed where "LARGO" originated from.
The nice part, Of many times I've been to Batsto, the last time I was in the Mansion was herds ago and I always seem to miss the tour since they've offered more access. Last time I was in I saw no more than the first floor. Sam & I stayed and we had a small & likeable crowd of 9 persons. A great guide and to my amazement my 7 year old video game/ T.V. kid was eyes wide open and in awe of this wonderful look.
All I can say is "Wow" to the upper floors and regarding the tower view...
"Wow to the power of 10"
Just a really pleasant visit. Then.......
After some yardwork home I rounded out the day with taking all three (yikes!) of my kids for a walkabout of the Pump Branch. We were fortunate to run into a forestry person who gave my kids right there in the woods a bunch of goodies (pens, pins, pencils, erasers, smokey the bear stuff) Well for a walk in the woods that was the Cat's whiskers for them! We collected a whole bag of
bottles,cans, etc.
I know... Dad stuff. Gotta love it.

Wow! It sounded like you had a great day, and your famous :)

Terry was at the Mansion when Ben and I visited there for the rededication of the Visitors Center, and many of you may have met her since she works at the Atsion Ranger station when it is open.

It is interesting that they gave out things to your kids.

Thanks for the post.
