It certainly is that time of year again. About 19 years (+-) and still going on. Thankfully, the woods are a hell of a lot cleaner that they were back then.

Anyway, both Chris (Hewey) and I will be leading separate teams this year if any of you want to help us. If you desire to get out of the house and help us clean up the woods let me know. I'll let you know where to meet.

Just bumping this to the top. Adding to what Bob already stated, this is also a good opportunity to "legally" visit the mountain itself, where all participants will be treated to a hotdog lunch. Whenever someone asks me about visiting the mountain and indicates they may not have an appropriate vehicle or experience navigating off-road I suggest they participate in this clean up and have gotten quite a few takers that way. The official meeting place is the Lacey Municipal Building, on Lacey Rd, at 8:30am, but a few of our elite special forces squads will be heading out ahead of time.

Someone has been pre cleaning. The dirt portion of Dover Road and nearby are lined with trash. And there are unusually wet puddles near 539.

Ben, the official meeting place is the Lacey Municipal Building, on Lacey Rd, at 8:30am. As it gets closer I will let everyone here who plans to be there know if we will still meet there, or somewhere closer to the target areas.

Looks like I'll be getting Dana closer to 11:30am that day. May have to count me out. :(

No problem Ben. I was going to call you anyway and advise against bringing her. Where we are going and what we have to pick up would be hard on her. It is all block, brick, broken glass etc. Brutal work.

We were very busy today so I only took three photo's. I did get one of Bob taking a short break from the trash.

I don't know, Bob. That looks like good snake habitat you are about to destroy! ;) Anyway, it was a great day. Most crews cleaned up the areas assigned to them ahead of schedule. Many thanks to all who helped.

We couldn't have asked for better weather for the clean up this year!

My crew and I removed two full front end loader buckets of concrete, and one loader bucket full of assorted trash.

My crew hard at work.

Bucket #2.

Your crew looks like they did a great job. That is quite a bit of concrete.

New locations next year!

Next year, coalition members and volunteers will gather at Wells Mills County Park in Waretown and begin searching through the southern perimeter of the tract, which is privately owned, Jennings said.
