Another NJ success story

2014 Bald Eagle survey finds 156 nest sites, 146 active with eggs. We found 15 BE's sitting on the ice at Forsythe NWR a week ago and my son got some good pics of D95 with its telemetry backpack; pics sent to K. Clark.

I guess the backpack does not hinder them. It must make it troublesome for preening.

It is placed out of the way on their back between the wings and is pretty small, doubt it would adversely affect preening. D25, nicknamed Nacote, was hatched last year and made the trip to Canada and back and appears to have flown over the cabin we used to have. It seems he has taken a liking to Forsythe's Oceanville site for the winter.
