I recently went camping at the Batona Campground, and I have to admit I was really nervous the entire time!! I have been camping all over and never felt this way about a campground before. It is a beautiful scenic campground but there were majorly sketchy people there! Has anyone had experiences at this place or with the people at the campground?

im sure a few people reading this may be thinking, wonder if kayak and his buddies were there? LOL. i don't know what you mean by sketchy? most piney's are sketchy. quiet and standoffish. until you get them talking and then they won't shut up :).
but to answer your question, no. just routy kids being the worst.

I wish it were just pineys or routy kids but it was actually seeming dangerous to be there. I love camping and I'm obsessed with the nature and history that the pine barrens has to offer and I have been there when there are people that are a little cooky just wanting to talk with someone. But I seriously felt like I was in danger with what was going on there.

Can you go into more detail on what you mean by dangerous? What did you see?

I was camping there the friday nigth before last with my 9 yr old son. it was just the two of us all night. We had a few trucks go by but that was it. Rangers came through once as talked to us for a few minutes then left. Rest of the nigth was quiet and nice. I have never had any problems when i camp there.
