Batsto, etc

Went out today with a buddy to check out some places, including a visit to Chatsworth (Marilyn took some of my band's cds to sell), the new Batsto visitors center, the rest of Batsto, Pleasant Mills Church and the broken bridge, and Apple Pie Hill. Nothing that people here haven't been to plenty of times, but took some fun pictures.

Cool photos, Mike. I thought it funny that you described that shot of the Mullica as a "scary vision". There certainly is a sort of eerieness about these sleepy rivers of the pines, isn't there?

Mike,
Looks like you are still making fine use of your time. Your write up is nice and the pics are all good and a couple are just right to give you that eerie PineBarrens feel that keeps the outsiders away.Looking at the lake reminds me of my September paddle and as I sit in work right now during the last and most maddening up day of the year, I wish I was sitting on that lake right now.
Be it the Mullica (my favorite) or the Batsto, Your Scary Vision rings true. As peaceful as it can be floating along, and I prefer to be alone mostly, you can be calmed or you can feel really alone in a very surreal fashion on any given turn of the rivers. Continue your Journey & keep 'em coming.
