The wife and I made it to BSH this morning for the 1st time today. It's a real shame that yet another otherwise nice site has been marred and littered by the youngsters. I know these first pictures are that of the fondation for the fire-tower that was totaled by the plane-crash, but what's the structure in these last two pictures?

That foundation was the bathrooms, and you can see them in my "Then And Now" gallery. I have a few more photo's of them around here somewhere that show it much clearer.

Bear Swamp Hill was a state recreational area up until the plane crashed into the tower. You could go there and have a lunch or a cookout and see the sights. There were others around such as the "Butler Place" on 72 at Savoy Blvd. When the government would not pay for the replacement of the tower, the state abandoned it.

It is a shame you did not move the bricks or debree or you would have found an extra bonus :) There are a few more in the area but you have to dig :siren:

Now you've sparked my curiosity Guy. I'm assuming you mean the debre and bricks at the top/center where the old tower foundation is? What could possibly be there under all that stuff/trash that would be of interest?

Stu, we logged so many miles yesterday, I honestly don't recall how accessible it was. The next time down there, I'll make a conscious effort to note how accessible it is for a car.

Yes, under the top center trash.

I haven't been anywhere Pines related in a few months. I know where my car would be fine, but Annie won't let me take it out there. That's what I get for buying new.

If you did it every weekend like I do, that is hard on a car. A few dirt roads once in a while is not a problem. Sorry to hear of your dilemma.
