This is my neck of the woods, so I've wandered through here a few times, often really not knowing for sure whether or not I was on preserve land or not. I'm certainly headed back as the weather changes. There are quite a few fascinating Revolutionary War sites in the vicinity and if anyone wants a .pdf of the National Lands Trust preserve areas, let me know!

Thanks for the info. I just found out tonight that I may be down there in the near future on a botany field trip.

specifically, the battle of quinton's bridge took place to the west of the forest. the man who led the militia, capt william smith, is buried to the south on jericho road, along with the americans killed during the fight. the burial area is very interesting- it's well marked and an interesting look at how people memorialized those events in later years. his house was one of the best examples of a wood-framed colonial era house until it very sadly burned about 3 years ago. alloway village is nearby as well, and that's really worth seeing as well.
