Cabin at Colliers Mill

A couple of weeks back I went to an estate sale that advertised fishing tackle and the ad stated that it was a cabin on a lake in New Eygpt. It turns out that that cabin was situated at Colliers Mill. I spoke with the woman who was running the sale and she told me that the woman whom owned the cabin had lived there since the 1930's and had recently passed away. According to her the state owned the land so when the owner passed away the the state would come in and demolish the house, similiar to what is done with the leased properties at Island Beach. She also told me that there were 20 cabins at one time in that area and this was the last one. I am not familiar with this area so could someone tell me if there were in fact more cabins at Colliers Mill at one time.

Here are some of the photos I took of the cabin.

It is on Hawkins Road, maybe 100 yards north of E. Colliers Road. It is set back far enough from the road that you can' see it and it is set back far enough from the lake that you would have to get pretty close in order to see it from a boat.

Wow-what a little slice of heaven-at least anytime outside of pheasant stocking days when it sounds like WWIII :p My dream property would be something along those lines-just a small lot abutting WMA land so that I could literally walk out my back door to my stand. It's a shame that the cabin will be torn down.
