Where can and cant you drive a Registered vehicle, in the Pine Barrens? Wharton, etc etc? Thanks

A registered vehicle like a truck or dual sport motorcycle? According to the rangers, you can drive it on any road that appears on a topo map.

While I know Ben was told by a ranger that roads that appear on topo maps are legal to drive on, this is more of a rule of thumb than law. I am not 100% certain but I believe the law is "on designated roads" however, the roads are not designated except in some cases that prohibit vehicular use.

The roads are public, but if you see a road that crosses wetlands, or is overgrown it is the safer bet to avoid it. If you are looking for some off road 4x4 type recreation, rest assured there are many clearly public roads that require 4x4's (sand, mud, water)

Have fun and don't be too paranoid. Just use your best judgement.

This probably the road into Mullica River campsite. There is another restricted area like this near Lower Forge campsite. No motor vehicles: Hiking or canoeing in only.
