My oldest Boy came home from college this week, yesterday was such a nice day we deciced to go for a canoe trip.We decide to put in at Weymouth Furnace on the Great Egg Harbor
Dylan standing by my truck as we are getting ready to un load
we took Wharton along too
this was a little stop about a half hour in.
viewing down stream
one of the forks we tried got very shallow, Wharton is watching the leaves that are flowing in the current
Slacker
Wharton finally stands still for 5 sec's
Wharton decided to start chasing some of those leave's
we hit another shallow spot and had to jump out and drag the canow for a bit.
Hey wait for me
looking back thats what we had to drag the canoe across
this one too
interesting looking tree of many down this river
one of the many swampy bank sides
same area , Wharton investigates
one of the many little feeder streams along the way
there where alot of downed trees early on. Dylan drags the canoe across one of the log encounters for the old man.
this tree was deceiving because there are other logs under it and it wasnt so easy to go under it. At first we thought 'piece of cake' it turned out ot be a piece of cake with a giant log in it.
Wharton
the river starts to widen her and gets deeper. the current wasnt so strong so i could actually take a couple pictures as we where moving
looking behind us
another interesting tree
and another feeder stream
not so much work now
Beavers snack stand
wharton is beat by now so he curls up for a nap
Dylan checks to see how deep the water is
Approaching destination Lake Lenape
