I was looking to get together a CITO event (geocaching cleanup) around Earth Day. I was going to have it the 22nd and called Batsto and spoke to Gil Mika who told me that they were having their big cleanup/Earth Day celebraton on the 17th.

SO...

A bunch of us are meeting at Batsto at 9:30am on Saturday April 17th to help Wharton officials with whatever they need to do that day. Clean up, trail marking, planting..whatever. The official starting time is 10am, but I posted a starting time on the CITO page as 9-9:30 so we would have a chance to meet and organize ourselves.

There is going to be a small group of us camping at Bass River throughout that weekend (Friday and Saturday night). I camped there this past weekend and I HOPE it will be warmer, hehe.

If anyone on this site is interested in the cleanup or in camping (you don't have to do both, it can be one or the other), please post here or give me a call at 609-742-0105. I do screen my calls, so you will have to leave a message unless I know who you are, lol.

I sincerely hope to see some of you there. Depending on how many show up, we will be covering a good chunk of Wharton from Atco to APH and many other places...

Clean-up

Hey Gipsie, I thought I was going to be able to make it, but my plans are jammed for this weekend. I'm in the middle of changing the flooring in my house to try and sell it and things have been way too hectic. I've been to a couple of other areas that are in desperate need of cleaning and I might try and get out on the weekend after, but I'm not sure of that. Sorry for the change of plans. Me and some buddies did do a small clean-up near Harrisville this past weekend though, so at least I got some in!:)

It's all good. It looks like we are going to have a decent sized group, but we can always use more.

Nice to hear you did Harrisville. Some of us picked up a ton of concrete and construction material from Bodine Field a couple of weeks ago.

hmmmm. the twins are coming literally any day or minute. so I doubt I'll be attending. I'd be there with a trailer otherwise. Keep posting them up though. I'm bound to make one sooner or later.

It was a great day. We had over 25 people show up and cleaned a few areas. The Forks, Constable Bridge and Batsto Washington Rd (?) clear up to Penn Swamp Rd. 4 hours and 3 pickup loads later, we all went and had a campfire at our campsite at Bass River.
