I messed this up.Scott I was wanting to know how loud your spitfire was but I found some vids and it seems plenty loud.I want to go out and get in ghillie mode and see what i can entice into jumping on me.See if I can literally scare crap out of some poor unsuspecting predator.All in fun of course.

The Spitfire is pretty loud Al. It's the only one I have any experience with though.
Dead calm nights are the best for any calling situation.
I would check Cabelas reviews for each call to get an idea.

Thanks Scott.This toy even has Mamma interested.She is a bear and bird of prey fiend.Wonder if a bear could be called in.I'll try and download the sound of a twinkie.hey I'll come to that!

Black bear respond to calls very well! It is some Bear hunters preferred method! A video of bear responding to a call. No kill of bears in the clip.

That was wild watching the inner emotional fight of that bear.She wanted grub but she knew not to mess with men.It was back and forth.It was funny at first but I think they got a little carried away and bordered on meaness.It woulda been BS if they had to shoot her because they carried a joke to far and she jumped on em.They wouldn't have been so brave if she was a griz.Once I got sight of the bear I would have stopped.I'd never forgive myself if I had to kick a momma bears bahootie in front of her cubs.

I agree with you Al. That quickly ripened into harassment and if it ended badly for the bear beacause of their acts, they should be charged.
Unfortunately, if it did go badly for the bear I don't think they would be posting a video of themselves in the act and no one would have ever known if they had to shoot the bear.

Ethically, I would separate calling in a large bear for fun from calling in coyotes or other non-life threatening wildlife for fun or photographic opportunities as you are planning to do. You won't have to shoot your way out of those situations.

Those guys should have quit after the first time they called her in, cleaned out their shorts and appreciated the fact that they were able to get her that close.

True, the situation could have turned real ugly real quick with the way they kept calling to the bear. Even more so with a sow with cubs. I am not condoning what the hunters did was right. I just posted the video to show how black bear respond to a call.

Al, by no means do I think calling bear in for fun is a good idea. Like Scott said, you may end up in a situation that you would have to shoot your way out of.

Foolish antics of the caller aside, it is a great example of the power and speed that black bear possess - purpose built. The sow was acting on pure instint. Notice how the cubs were uncertain and almost immediatly set off into the cover of the trees, while she kept up the pursuit. They caller was arrogant and showing off for camera. You can hear the fellow recording the scene tell him that it is enough. I am glad it ended in favor of the bear.

That would be like Momma calling me to dinner and finding a note on the table that said PSYCHE! Yes they were lucky to get out of there alive.

was out in those same woods again today stone searching and could hear coyote man going off again.Sounded to be in the same spot and I passed his truck parked in the same place only I was a third of a mile away this time and he was still easily heard at that distance.Momma was frothing because she loves coyotes and I told her what the sound was.She was scared that our dog would go for it but the mutt was oblivious at that distance.

same guys been out there last two days in a row.I been stone hunting and I can hear him from almost a mile away,even over the roar of the sand plant dryer.

the rmp map is not accurate but it has given me some clues nonetheless.I am going back to scour a ditch I believe I have nailed down as a property line.This is one aggravating map.I have to send that stone pic to you,almost forgot,actually I did forget,just remembered.

I wouldn't be surprised if the call you heard was an injured rabbit call. Coyote hunting is pretty popular in KY and the guys I knew who did it would call them in with a rabbit call.

it sounded like a small male animal having it's canoli's squeezed real hard.I could hear him the next day when i was further away he was over half a mile away and had the sand plant dryer roaring behind him and I could still hear him.There is a house about 1400 ft from where he was on at least four different days i was hunting stones in that area.I know the people at the house indirectly and I bet they could hear him out there as well.
