I was thinking of heading out to Deep Run and Hampton Forge to do some photography. What's a good way in? Hampton Road? Glossy Spung? I'm willing to walk a bit but not hours. I drive a Forester. Thanks.

As Ed mentioned, don't drive into Deep Run. Make sure you park and walk.
It is really wet back there at the far end. But I found that the most interesting place. Especially really far back. You can walk even further than I did in the below map. I was looking for what may have been an old sawmill base where the arrow is pointing, but nothing was there. But I liked the area. Really remote.

I was thinking of our trip Seven Scenic Savannas. It was south of there. We missed a few savannas on that trip, and could do a different one in same area but not as long.
