A lap dance is on a chair, but can be on a couch. Usually the dancer is between your legs, and there is a lot of touching by the dancer, but not always.
A couch dance is like a lap dance except that it is on a couch, and the dancer can straddle the customer and stand up on the couch. Even more touching by the dancer.
There are also shower dances, booth dances, bed dances, floor dances, etc. Some places like in Mt Ephraim use the booths not only for dances but for other purposes. The dancers pay rent for the booths--that's where the real money is made. Also, no alcohol served at that particular type of club.
