Bob and Ben,

We are heading out earlier than usual on Sunday morning to look for something near the chemical dump on 72. Some deep woods and most likely wet searching. From there we will head right over and meet up with you. There is a possibility I may be slightly late so go on as soon as you are ready, or give me a call and you will know where I am. In any event, if I am late I will call you and you can direct me to your location either by describing or by giving me your coordinates. Bob could you please email me a link to about where you intend to start the day.

I think I will be done in time to be there but one never knows. Bob this is at the location I sent you the link to in a previous email.

Guy, what you warned me about has come true. :(

Age not only gives you wisdom, it gives you experience. I am sorry that my experience is now in your life. Jeff....watch out! :)

I'm up in the air -- have to talk to my boss and see if she is cool with me going out.

Guy, what you warned me about has come true. :(

Just let me know by 9:00. If you are not going to make it, I'll call Guy on his cell phone and tell him don't bother leaving his stone search.........bob

Sorry this didn't happen today. I would have been really late anyway. I was rushing to get walking down the road I wanted to go down, and after .8 miles I realized we were on the wrong side of the river. So we had to walk back and drive as far down the road on the other side as we could. Then we had to bushwhack and traverse some really nice flower area's Bob. By the time we got back to the car it was 11:30.

Yea...they are still around. Jessica had them on her legs but I didn't. I used Off as soon as I saw them and that is a 100% cure.

It was a semi tough day today. My legs are tired!

We found this today near Brooksbrae. This was considered an "Old Stone" on all of the early 1900's maps I have. So I consider it a good find.

Where we were looking early this morning the stone is gone and there is a more modern survey monument.

It most likely is from the mid 1800's but I have not proof of that. It was part of the Greenwood Forest Tract and it may have been placed there by William McKnight. I know at one time the property was owned by Harry L. Neal and it may have been sold to the Adams Clay Mining company. I see no evidence that it was sold to the Brooksbrae Brick company. I can tell you it was eventually sold to a Stanley Switlik who owned all of the Greenwood Forest and much much more in 1947. He was the one who sold the Greenwood Forest, and the Pasadena Wildlife Management Area to the state of NJ. I have the deed map that shows all of the land he sold which included Brooksbrae and Old Half Way. The map is dated 1967 so I know by that time the state owned it. It would be interesting to find out more info on Stanley Switlik.

I have made some major finds on the important stones in that area, with a few more important ones to still look for. I will be doing that in two weeks. I still need four Hanover stones but I have acquired a survey map that shows the exact location of them, but it is magnetic north. I have to make some guesses with that. Magnetic north changes through the years.
