Edmunds Spring

Looking over some survey info here and have come across a place known as Edmunds Spring.It is located along "Slab Causeway" which is a feeder stream of Burrs Mill Branch.I know where slab causeway is but need to know where Edmunds Spring is.Has anyone here ever heard of this spring?
Also Block 607 of Woodland township would be a big help.I cannot seem to see the tax lines on Bens maps.They used to work but don't seem to now.Can anyone that has their maps working make a screenshot of block 607 for me and put it here?

Al...I use Ben's maps to find the tracts that I find on the tax maps. His maps are one of the best stone hunting tools there is.

It is funny, I was just out by Slab Causeway yesterday morning. You have Island Spring, four mile spring and gum spring and tar kiln spring out there but I don't know of an edmund spring.

I am having trouble locating a piece of property that I have no map for and only an undated and very unspecific deed.There are several tracts on it and one mentions an Edmunds Spring.That would get me started.I've only been in those woods up there a few times and do not know them as well as Wharton and the Oswego lake block.

Here's a map that shows tax parcels. The yellow shaded area is block 607. The only labelled stream in my data is Slab Causeway Branch, there is no name associated with the others that are shown here. In the surrounding area, I see the following stream names (and lots of un-named ones)

Burnt Bridge Branch
Gum Spring Shinns Branch
Slab Causeway Branch
South Branch Burrs Mill Brook

Cool map Jerseyman! But I am trying to orient myself. Is the lake at Edmund Springs what we currently know as Chatsworth Lake? - Shown just West of Shamong here: http://mapmaker.rutgers.edu/1872Atlas/BurlingtonCoNorthTopo.jpg

If so, then that isn't anywhere near the current Block 607 in Woodland Township, it would be Block 2704 (shown in yellow).

It absolutely flows into Chatsworth Lake on the west side and it purported NOT to be part of the Wading River, but, as its name indicates, flows from a spring.

Jerseyman, do the little coniferous and deciduous trees on your map indicate the dominant type tree in the area or were they just used randomly to indicate a forest? Seems like a lot of oak trees to me.

Hmm, looking again now I think maybe they represent cedars and pitch pines instead of oaks and pines. That would make sense then.

Thanks everybody and thanks Jerseyman,this is the right creek.The deed said the POB is situate on Slab Causeway at the foot of Edmunds Spring so this be another mystery.This is a deed to block 607 lot 92 which should be up by slab causeway

If you switch to the regular Google map view, it doesn't seem to show all the individual lots from the tax map.

where did you get this map Boyd? Is it online?is it the map you created and everyone has been putting on their Garmins?

Al, it's a "mash up" of data that I already have on my computer. The roads and hydro are from my NJ 2012 map (the one everyone has been putting on their Garmins). The property parcel data can be downloaded here: https://njgin.state.nj.us/NJ_NJGINExplorer/IW.jsp?DLayer=Parcels by County/Muni

I put it all together in globalmapper and customized the appearance to make it readable. I've gotten pretty quick at throwing this kind of map together.

never realized i could use that site for that.You are definitely the map king! I have figured out how to download the files since I have used this site for the aerials but cannot figure out how to open any of the files in Google earth.is there any way to use these files with google earth?maybe convert one of their shp files into a kml???will that work???
