I've been through that site many times over the years John and I still haven' been able to figure out the hole with all of the vertical timbers. One of the Rusnaks told me a local tale of the people who used to live there that is very chilling, if it is true. Good campfire story. There was a NJ Geodetic survey monument at the angle point in the center of the road but Guy and I have both looked for it and came up empty. I can't recall but Guy might have found it in some of his early explorations. It is not there now. Those monuments were invaluable for establishing survey control and most were set in the late 1930's.
