They should put it on their web sites.
Yes. They should. That's the reason Sandy Causeway was widened as well last year. It creates a "defensable" line. Most people think those little plow lines are fire breaks. While that's what they are used for during control burns they provide little help and are rarely used during a forest fire.

The community I live in (Laurel lake) is surrounded on two sides by Bevan WMA. There is a fire break approximately 30 ft wide that surrounds the residential area and is in case the WMA ever catches on fire this where they should be able to stop it. The WMA caught on fire back in the late 90's but it was north of Battle Lane. The fire burnt right up to the first house on the corner of Point Breeze and Battle Lane. They stopped it at the back yard of that first house. No one has ever lived there within my memory and in the last 25 years i have only seen someone there once cleaning up the yard. Most of Bevan sets west of the community. So a strong westerly could crown a fire and I"m sure a crown fire would have no problem jumping even a 30 ft break. This is why I keep my fire insurance up.

Guess they are being proactive about letting people know why Washington road is going to be widened.
