I took the same picture today but they didn't come out. My guess is the seeds of a Dwarf Dandelion. Here is a picture of the base( the spiked leaves with long stems).

I took the same picture today but they didn't come out. My guess is the seeds of a Dwarf Dandelion. Here is a picture of the base( the spiked leaves with long stems).

They (with the lyre shaped leaves) look like Centaurea nigrescens (a knapweed).

Here is mine, slightly out of focus and I believe it was on a long stem with lyre shaped leaves.

Great stuff Tom. Where were you, along the Rancocas by Pemberton?

That second one in post 497 is intriguing too, looks like a grape fern.

Bob, Some more hobo plants along the railroad in Pemberton. Do you know why the one plant is foaming? My guess is some type of insect.
