Flower ID

I took this picture in September 2007 while bushwacking in the plains. It was 4 months after the fire. Sorry for the picture quality, it was a disposable camera. You can (just) see the small purple flower. Can someone tell the ID? I wish I had a better picture. Thanks for any help.

I believe that is Pine Barren Gentian. Lets see if I am correct.

Thanks for the help. I thought that's what it was at first, but I had never seen it in such an open sandy area before. It was in the burnt over section of the plains off rt 539, pretty far off the road. I was amazed that only 4 months after the fire things were already blooming.
