Flowering Sundews

Ed, tell me about the habitat. I find it odd that they are growing on a (seemingly) bed of pine needles.

It's funny, I often find the thread leaved sundews in more dry and sandy conditions than the spatulate or round-leaved. The round-leaved seem to be strongly associated with sphagnum, and the spatulate-leaved seem to love muck. How far from water were these?

About a quarter mile from a big car trap. No rivers or swamps.
Roughly here and quite dry.
